Audit and Standards Committee

Purpose of committee

 

The Audit and Standards Committee has the following roles and functions in respect of standards:

 

Promoting and maintaining high standards of conduct by councillors, co-opted members and church and parent governor representatives;

 

Assisting the councillors, co-opted members and church and parent governor representatives to observe the Council’s adopted Code of Conduct;

 

Advising the Council on the adoption or revision of the Code of Conduct;

 

Monitoring the Code of Conduct;

 

Advising, training or arranging to train councillors, co-opted members and church and parent governor representatives on matters relating to the Code of Conduct;

 

Granting dispensations to councillors, co-opted members and church and parent governor representatives from requirements relating to interests set out in the Code of Conduct;

 

Dealing with any reports including investigations from the Monitoring Officer;

 

And the exercise of the above in relation to Lamesley Parish Council and its members.

 

The specific delegations to the Audit and Standards Committee have been set out in Part 3, Schedule 1 of the Constitution.
