Councillors and committees
21/06/2021 - Gateshead Council becoming a signatory to the Public Health England Prevention Concordat for Better Mental Health
COVID-19 has highlighted pre-existing
inequalities and, in some cases, widened them. Taking a
prevention-focused approach to improving the public’s mental
health has been shown to make a valuable contribution to achieving
a fairer and more equitable society, dovetailing with the aims of
the Councils Thrive strategy. The Concordat will support an
increased focus on the prevention of mental health problems and the
promotion of good mental health across Gateshead. Cabinet is asked
to support Gateshead’s Application for the Prevention Care
Concordat through Public Health England.
