The Electrical Safety Standards in the Private
Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020 has introduced a range of
new powers available to Local Housing Authorities to tackle
landlords failing to provide safe fixed electrical installations in
their rented homes. This report seeks authorisation of use of the
powers and sets out how they will be used in Gateshead.
