i)

That the minutes of the meeting of the Community Safety Sub OSC held on 22 March 2016 were agreed as a correct record.

 

ii)

That the minutes of the meetings of the Community Safety Board held on 4 March 2016 and 22 April 2016 respectively were agreed as a correct record.

5.

Update on FamiliesGateshead Programme

Presentation by Susan Butler, Service Manager – Gateshead Youth Offending Team and Troubled Families Co-ordinator

Minutes:

The Committee received a presentation and update from Susan Butler on the Families Gateshead Programme.

 

RESOLVED

i)

That the information be noted

 

ii)

That further information be requested as to why the number of families that the council needed to work with had reduced having looked at the indices of deprivation based on calculations received from the DCLG this week.

 

iii)

That the further information requested above shall be provided to the committee separately as soon as possible.

The Council Plan - End of Year Assessment of Performance and Delivery 2015/16 pdf icon PDF 273 KB

The Committee received a report providing the year end assessment of performance for 2015/2016. It also provided an update on the performance and delivery of the Council Plan 2015-2020.

 

RESOLVED -

i)

that the activities undertaken at year end 2015/16 are achieving the desired outcomes in the Council Plan 2015-2020, with the addition that the levels of substance misuse in Gateshead is also included in the information.

 

ii)

that the report be referred to Cabinet on 12 July 2016, with the recommendations from the Community Safety Overview and Scrutiny Sub Committee for their consideration.

Corporate Strategic Tracker and Target Indicators - 2020 pdf icon PDF 254 KB

Minutes:

The Committee received a report outlining the proposed service targets to be agreed for the period up to 2020.

 

The targets set express the planned level of performance and are based on a sound understanding of current and past performance and the likely influences over future performance. They will be used as a tool for driving continuous improvement and stretching performance against a particular measure over a given period of time and help to set out what needs to be done to achieve improvement within an appropriate timescale.

 

RESOLVED -

i)

that the proposed 2020 targets set for the corporate strategic indicators and the available benchmarked performance to ensure the Council’s performance is continuously improving to contribute to the delivery of vision 2030 and the Council plan is acceptable.

 

ii)

that a further indicator on measuring the levels of substance misuse in Gateshead be added

 

iii)

that the information be referred to Cabinet for approval.

The Committee received a report with an overview of the Community Safety Board Partnership Plan which provided details of the strategic priorities that have been identified by the Community Safety Board to deliver against throughout the next 12 months.

That the Committee agree to received regular updates on actions undertaken to the strategic priorities (as per the OSC Workplan 2016/17)
