Minutes:

The Joint Executive Committee were given a report updating on contracts.

Updates were given to the Joint Executive Committee on the following:

·         Residual Waste Treatment Contract

o   2023/24 Service Update

o   Waste Transfer Stations (WTS)

o   Reconciliation 2022/23

o   Residual Waste Treatment Contract (RWTC) 10 Year Anniversary

o   Revisions to Waste Incineration

o   Commercial Advisor Retirement

o   Joint Insurance Cost Review

o   Targeted Recruitment and Training

o   Community Education and Engagement

o   Community Liaison Groups

·         Materials Recovery Facility Contracts

·         Household Waste and Recycling Centre Contracts

·         Green Waste Composting Contracts

·         Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Contract

It was particularly noted that there is a pass-through contract linked to the RWTC to cater for any periods the EfW or any of the contingency processing facilities cannot cater for our waste. This is the Untreatable Residues Contract, which was tendered in 2013 and has recently been extended again until 31 March 2025.

Waste Sector News Update

Minutes:

The Joint Executive Committee was given a Waste Sector News Update.

Following the presentation, the Committee discussed take back schemes for electrical items.

50.

2024/25 Meeting Schedule

To agree the proposed 2024/25 dates and times of meetings.

  • 14 June 2024 – 1.30pm
  • 13 September 2024 – 1.30pm
  • 13 December 2024 – 1.30pm
  • 14 March 2025 – 1.30pm

Minutes:

The Partnership was appraised of the meeting schedule for the next municipal year.

Any Other Business

Minutes:

The Partnership noted their thanks to Councillor Linda Green for her contributions as Chair of the Partnership, and Colin Huntington for his work and contributions. They are both wished a happy retirement.

The next meeting of the Joint Executive Committee will be held on Friday 14 June 2024 at 1.30pm.
