Official Announcements (announcements may be made by the Mayor, Leader of the Council or the Chief Executive) Minutes: We are incredibly saddened to acknowledge the death of Bob Goldsworthy, who was a Councillor for 17 years, elected in 2007.
Councillor Goldsworthy worked in the engineering, constructing, and housing sectors, before pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Combined Studies in Cultural and Social Studies, and afterwards a Post-Graduate Diploma in Housing Management and Social Policy.
As a Councillor, Bob was the Chair of the Planning and Development Committee and a member of: · Care, Health and Wellbeing OSC; · Licensing Committee, and; · Regulatory Committee.
Councillor Goldsworthy entered politics because he believed that the people of Gateshead deserve the best possible public service provision and that this can only be achieved by getting involved in the decision-making process. His contributions and role as a Councillor have been appreciated by this Council, and we give him our thanks. We also share our sympathies with Councillor Maureen Goldsworthy, and Bob’s family and friends.
It is with sadness that I must also inform you that former Councillor and Alderman Malcolm Graham passed away on at the end of May.
