Consideration was given to a report setting out the latest position on the 2020/21 Capital Programme and Prudential Indicators at the end of the third quarter.

 

COUNCIL RESOLVED  -

(i)

That all variations to the 2020/21 Capital Programme, as detailed in Appendix 2 of the report, be approved as the revised programme.

 

 

(ii)

That the financing of the revised programme be approved.

 

 

(iii)

To note that Cabinet confirms that the capital expenditure and capital financing requirement indicators have been revised in line with the revised budget and that none of the approved Prudential Indicators set for 2020/21 have been breached.

COUNCIL RESOLVED  -

(i)

That the virements to contingency actioned for operational purposes, as outlined in appendix 1 of the report, be approved.

That an amendment to the net revenue budget for 2020/21 from £240.961m to £243.507m, as presented in appendix 1 of the report, to account for the additional grant funding, be approved.

That the 1.5% rent increase from 5 April 2021, as detailed at Appendix 2 of the report, be approved.

Consideration was given to a report seeking approval of the MSGP.

 

COUNCIL RESOLVED  -  

(i)

That the Inspector’s Report on Making Spaces for Growing Places be noted and that the main modifications be accepted.

 

 

(ii)

That the Making Spaces for Growing Places Local Plan document and Policies Map be adopted from 1 February 2021.

 

 

(iii)

That the remaining saved Unitary Development Plan Policies be noted, which will cease to have effect when the Plan is adopted.

 

 

(iv)

That the publication of the Adoption Statement and the Sustainability Appraisal be noted, in accordance with Regulation 26 and 35 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning)(England) Regulations 2012 and that all persons on the Local Plan database be notified and a copy of the Adoption Statement be sent to the Secretary of State.

·         Work to Stop Domestic Abuse

 

 

Minutes:

Councillor A Douglas moved the following motion:

 

“Gateshead Council is an employer who cares about the impact of domestic abuse on our employees. We support the GMB Employer Charter, and pledge to:

 

1.     Support employees who are experiencing Domestic Abuse to access support services and information confidentially.

2.     Ensure that those experiencing Domestic Abuse will not be disadvantaged within the terms and conditions of their employment and will take all reasonable measures to facilitate any needs in the workplace.

3.     Commit to working/participating with other organisations to facilitate best support for those experiencing Domestic Abuse.

4.     Provide all employees with access to toolkits, information and our policies on domestic abuse, in a format that is easily and discretely accessible within the workplace.

5.     Ensure that we have employees trained across our organisation, to provide adequate access to support within the workplace for all employees. Staff trained should be representative of our workplace and will include line managers and Trade Union representatives.”

 

 

On the motion being put it was declared to be carried.
